Development of Tourism sector in Sandzak region
The NGO New Vision, under the protectorate of European
Agency for reconstruction, has been realizing a
twelve-month project "Development of Tourism sector in
Sandzak region". The project is financed by EU, realized
by European Agency for Reconstruction, carried out by
Consortium Centre for development of non - profit
sector and Fund Centre for Democracy within the programme
Fund for civil society support in Serbia.
The project activities include the following municipalities: Prijepolje,
Nova Varos, Priboj and Sjenica. The aim of the project is to define
touristy product of these four municipalities, related on natural
potentials and cultural heritage and also development of human resources
essential for creating high quality touristy offer in this region. The
project represents one of the first direct implementation of Strategies
or sustainable development in these four municipalities. The strategies
are based on principles of participatory planning with the UNDP support.
Collaborators within the project are Toni Travis (England), Dr. Marko
Koscak (Slovenia) and more host experts for rural development and rural
tourism development.
